Maeve Howard is a Certified Nurse Midwife dedicated to improving reproductive health for people of all backgrounds. Originally from Hebron, CT, Maeve brings a small-town perspective to her work in Atlanta, blending a personal touch with her clinical expertise. She believes midwifery uniquely balances scientific knowledge with respect for women’s intuition about their own bodies, creating an empowering and inclusive environment for care.

Maeve earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Nurse-Midwifery specialty from Emory University. Her training included extensive experience in diverse settings, from birth centers to tertiary care hospitals, where she managed over 50 births and supported clients through pregnancies ranging from routine to high-risk. Maeve’s clinical interests include contraceptive counseling, physiologic birth support, and prenatal care, with a focus on ensuring clients feel informed and empowered in their healthcare decisions.

Maeve’s commitment to equitable care began during her undergraduate studies at Yale University, where she double-majored in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her dedication to reproductive health was further cemented through independent research on LGBTQ+ reproductive healthcare and her professional experience in trauma-informed gynecologic care.

Maeve became a midwife to make a tangible difference in reproductive healthcare. She is particularly passionate about addressing health disparities and creating inclusive, supportive care environments that prioritize patient autonomy. She enjoys connecting with clients during prenatal visits and helping them navigate birth control options through open and collaborative discussions.

When she’s not caring for patients, Maeve enjoys knitting, crochet, spinning, sewing, and other fiber crafts. She’s an avid camper and hiker, often exploring the outdoors while listening to audiobooks. Her creative and adventurous spirit complements her patient-centered approach, helping her bring warmth and understanding to every interaction.
